Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy is it for real?

Recently I had an incident with my eye – a very weird localized blind spot suddenly appeared in one quadrant of my left eye while I was having lunch with a friend. Freaked out is an understatement, but after 5 minutes it resolved itself and my vision is back to normal. This incident got my attention and  sparked me to make an appointment with my ophthalmologist who ran a battery of tests.  Fortunately,  no vascular damage, loss of vision or any optic nerve damage had occured.  So what the heck happened?
He explained that as we age our microcirculation becomes less efficient, meaning the blood flowing through the very small vessels in our eyes, lungs, feet, fingers, etc. is not moving oxygen and waste products as quickly as when we were young.  This can result in observable symptoms like edema (pooled fluid in the ankles) and less obvious symptoms like decreased energy production of our cells.  Decreased energy is the most common complaint of people as they age so what can we do about it?
My ophthalmologist recommended Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF or PEMT), which is a non-invasive, painless treatment that works by emitting a pulsating, varying intensity and frequency electromagnetic field. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy influences cell behavior by inducing electrical changes around and within the cell. Improved blood supply increases the oxygen pressure, activating and regenerating cells and improving mitochondrial function.  These very low intensity and frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) target the cells within the body and help to improve the way they function. Research has demonstrated that this can lead to widespread health benefits, including supporting an effective immune response and a healthy overall body.  Imagine every cell in your body getting a boost of oxygen and better elimination of toxins.  Think of it as cellular anti-aging.
The value of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy has been shown to cover a wide range of conditions, with well-documented trials carried out by hospitals, rheumatologists, physiotherapists, and neurologists.  The benefits result from increasing microcirculation (capillary blood flow and tissue perfusion) during non-invasive 8-minute sessions.  In addition to increasing blood flow and cellular metabolism, research shows PEMF can also reduce the effects of inflammation by decreasing inflammatory cytokines.

Conditions benefiting from Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy:

There are several manufactures but he majority of PEMF wellness devices resemble a typical yoga mat in dimensions but are slightly thicker to house several flat spiral coils to produce an even electromagnetic field.  Recommend therapy, which involves simply lying on the mat, is determined by the condition.  Typical treatment is two 8 minute sessions per day initially, and twice weekly for maintenance.  For that reason It is might be more convenient to purchase a PEMF unit for your home.  Expect to pay in the neighborhood of $5,000 for a quality product. You can also visit your healthcare provider for this therapy, treatments range from $12-$25 per session depending on the practice.
PEMF therapy is based on more than 30 years of worldwide research carried out by renowned scientists and many years of practical experience by thousands of doctors, chiropractors and therapists.  Even with a price tag that will make some dizzy from sticker shock, from all appearances this technology has multiple benefits in improving health and mitigating even the most serious diseases.  Stay tuned for a personal testimonial once I have completed the therapy.
